Soups can be quick and easy so we bring one of our favorite egg drop soup recipes.  It's quick and easy and has no added sugar.  Make sure to serve this soup hot and it won't disappoint!  This egg drop soup is a perfect start to your sugar free meal or can help you feel better if you are under the weather.  Known as a chinese soup, this is one of the main soups you can use to start off your chinese cuisine.

Once you have a chance to make this you may come up with your own variations but we do have some tips for getting the right consistancy but you may also find some of your own methods.  Remember to only lightly beat the egg so that there are no bubbles. Turn the heat off as soon as you begin pouring in the egg so that it creates silkier threads.  Pour the egg in very slowly.  You can also try puring the egg from several inches above the pot through a fork to keep it slow and steady.  Start to stir as soon as you begin pouring in the egg.  Only stir the beaten egg in one direction.   Once you finish your sugar free meal, don't forget to end it off with one of our easy sugar free desserts!

Egg Drop Soup Recipe
Ingredients:


   2 (14.5 ounce) cans chicken broth
   1 tablespoon cornstarch
   1 egg, lightly beaten
   2 tablespoons chopped green onion

Directions

  1. In a medium stock pot, mix together the chicken broth with cornstarch. Slowly heat over medium heat while stirring frequently.
  2. Pour beaten egg into soup, and break it up by stirring once around stock pot very gently.
  3. Remove soup from heat immediately and divide into four portions.  Garnish it with green onions.
